Anyone know if this is available in stereo? The database lists only one stereo as an alternative take. Great song. It always seems the people on youtube make it sound like the song is available in stereo and out there...

Favorite two expressions to live by on this board: "You can't download vinyl" and "Not everything is available on CD."

The hit version has never been in stereo.
The stereo alternate take (different vocalist) is what was left on the multi-track. When they decided to change the lead vocalist, they dubbed his new vocal directly to mono. MM Edited by MMathews |

They replaced lead vocalists between "Baby Now That I've Found You" and "Build Me Up Buttercup". One was Clem Curtis and one was Colin Young. "Baby" was '67 and mono. "Build" was '69 and stereo. So I'm confused by what you write, Mark. Are you saying they took off the original lead singer of "Baby" and replaced it with the lead singer of "Build"? You wrote "They dubbed his new vocal directly to mono" ... but that would impoly what we know as the main (original) vocalist of "Baby..."
