It seemed to me (and this is just a theory) that FTG was folding. As a member of their mailing list, I'd get what became nearly daily emails where they eventually released what seemed like every CD in their catalog for $5 each - usually a sign that a company's going under. But I'd seen some other recent releases by FTG. Do you know if this is a digital-only release, or actual CD?

These various artist compilations are not digital download only releases but actual CD releases. I also get those emails (probably because I have ordered directly from the label in the past). This is a rarity that the label is releasing two various artist CDs. It makes good business sense since these mixes, edits, versions, etc. have all appeared before on FTG releases so cost will be minimal. How long will the label still be in business with these frequent sales and slashed prices? It's anyone's guess. I hope they stick around a few more years. They have released some 45 edits/versions that probably nobody else would have. |

As Santi mentioned, these are actual CDs.
They did have a distributor in the states (in NY I think) which has since closed. When it was open, they were charging around $3 or so for shipping so it would cost about $8 total per disc. Since, it has closed, they now ship from overseas so the $5 price point with international shipping comes to about $13 per disc which is similar to what you would pay on ebay or Amazon. Either way, I have purchased quite a few of their releases and they put out some quality stuff. |

I've been trying to score this set for a couple years now without any luck. Perhaps it's for the better.
I thought I had a set on the way from the UK, but the seller screwed me on the sale through eBay. Fortunately, I was swiftly refunded. Still, I wouldn't mind finding this on CD for the interests of my curiosity. |

There are 6 volumes and the cuts were mostly issued on
individual artist cds that Funkytowngrooves had previously licensed. This was late in their run of reissues and sort of when they threw in the towel. There are a few tracks from other compilations issued by Legacy, Soulmusic, and Robinsongs for good measure. All the tracks can be found elsewhere as I didn't bite for these and went through each compilation's songs. Edited by AutumnAarilyn |

I see a seller in the UK that has the entire 6 volume set up for sale on eBay at a price way out of my league.
It looked interesting, but not for those $bucks$. Typically, I also see them pass through individually for about $50 or so bucks an issue. Still too rich for my blood. |
