Juice Newton. What is the difference bewteen the LP and 45 version - they appear to run the same length.

If memory serves, I believe the LP version has steel guitars in the instrumentation, while the 45 does not.

I have both the LP and 45. The LP is a country styled version of the song as
stated, with steel guitars. But the 45 version has replaced the steel guitars
with a piano and an orchestra. Is that single version available anywhere, on a
comp?

Update: There is a single edit on CD, I have it in my collection and can verifiy
that it is available.

The single version was not an edit--the difference is in the instrumentation.

I am hoping somebody can help me with this..I know there is a single version of this song out there...I remember hearing it and you are all referring to it. I have the following CD's with the song on it:

Juice
Greatest Hits And More
Juice/Quiet Lies (Raven Records)
Greatest Country Hits

I don't know if it's my ears or what, but they are all the same versions. Does anybody have the 45/radio version of this song or know where it appears on CD? Thanks!

The first pressings of the LP have the steel guitar solo and the original mix. When the track started getting pop airplay, this track was remixed by Capitol and second pressings of the LP onward and the single had the new, common mix. The original mix so far has not appeared on CD to the best of my knowledge. I have both a first pressing LP and a later pressing of the Juice LP.

Dale, just so you can compare the two:

Original LP version (note the pedal steel guitar in the intro; not the best sound quality, but you'll get the picture):
