I did notice these "Strong Boxes" as well, mainrhythm. The main sticking point I find with these however is the price. The Allsop website is selling these Strong Boxes for $1.99 each and doesn't appear to be offering any discounts for larger quantites. For someone like myself looking to replace potentially hundreds of cases, this simply becomes too cost prohibitive unfortunately.

Do you have a Microcenter (computer superstore) near you?

Inland brand 25 pack for $6.99 at mine. No idea of the quality though.

Or any other type of computer superstore near you might have some.

Two more....

Univenture, the plastic CD sleeve people have standard jewel cases on their site $26.32 for 100. Again, no idea of their quality.

Here's some from Discmakers too:

Update...

I've discovered the Office Depot website and some of its select brick-and-mortar retail outlets actually stock a 25-pack of Memorex brand standard CD cases with black trays at a very reasonable price! I picked up a batch at a local branch location here in Pittsburgh and, even though the "Compact Disc Digital Audio" logo is also absent from these trays, the quality is somewhat more sturdy than the cheap, junky brands currently prevalent in the marketplace. So even though Memorex cases are not quite as heavy duty as the vintage jewel cases from decades ago, they're probably the best quality you're going to find in this day and age.

By the way, has anybody had any experience with the CD jewel case products supposedly available at a retail website called Rubber Disc? While its claim of offering "premium media storage products... highest quality CD jewel cases and the finest DVD cases, sure to impress even the most dedicated audiophile" appears to be a godsend (though they are more expensively priced), I could not reach anyone from their customer service department to respond to any of my questions despite multiple phone calls and e-mail inquiries from yours truly. If anyone has purchased CD jewel cases from this outlet and can comment on the quality, I would certainly be most interested.

You may want to stock up at Office Depot as there was a
news story today about them closing stores across the
country due to slow sales at many of their locations.

Those 'Lift Lock' cases on that RubberDisc site are what RPM Top Hits was using back in the 90's. Loved those things!

Here's a place that I've used frequently. Their service is excellent and they stand behind their products. Prices are good too, especially with quantity orders.

It figures! Hopefully, some of the remaining locations will continue to stock the cases.

These lift-lock cases were also used to package many of the Steve Hoffman mastered audiophile gold CDs issued on the DCC label back in the '90s.

This retail website has been suggested several times but no one has made any comments or testimonials regarding the quality of their CD jewel cases. I may contact the company and see if they'd be willing to send me a sample jewel case. If they oblige, I'll report back with my observations.

Now I'm sorry I threw a ton of brand new old stock ones out when I moved! I did save a few though (don't tell my wife).
