On my U.S. commercial 45, the title of the Harry Belafonte song listed in the database as 'Mama Look at Bubu' (RCA 6830) is shown as 'Mama Look A Boo Boo' with the subtitle '(Shut You Mouth - Go Away)'. The run time is shown on the label as (2:58), but I timed it at (2:51). On the various CDs listed in the database that contain the studio version of this song, the run times range from (2:50) to (3:00).

One final note: The Collectables reissue 45 features the 1966 re-recording made for the Calypso In Brass album. As the album title suggests, this version features a very different arrangement including a brass section.

Paul, original (RCA 6830) 45 copies were issued under both the "Mama Look
At Bubu" (deadwax "H2 PW1273-2S") and "Mama Look A Boo Boo" (Shut Your
Mouth - Go Away) (deadwax "H2 PW1273-3S") titles. Based on the deadwax,
it appears early copies were spelled "Bubu" and later copies were spelled
"Boo Boo". I acquired the "Boo Boo" 45 more recently. I must admit, I was so
surprised to see the different 45 title that I totally overlooked that a "subtitle"
in parens was also added for "Boo Boo" copies at that time. Nice work, sir!

I no longer have the record, but when I was a child I had an EP of this with the "Boo Boo" spelling (though not the subtitle). 2 of the 3 other songs on the EP were "Don't Ever Love Me" and "Dolly Dawn"...don't remember the 4th. My current copy has the "Bubu" spelling.

Don't ask me why I remember what was on a record I haven't owned since I was a teenager...just one of those things that sticks in your memory I guess.
