I managed to pick up a copy of this vinyl 45 over the weekend, and the song is labeled as "Remix-Clean". This notation surprised me, since I'd never heard anything objectionable. But a quick web search for lyrics shows that there is indeed an S-bomb in the second verse ("...just to put with this s* day after day"). The database doesn't distinguish which CDs have the song clean vs. dirty, or remix vs. not. This is actually the first time I've owned the song, so I can't be much help, but thought I'd bring this up.

I don't hear any MIX differences between the two versions.... however the clean lyric is "just to put up with this every day and all day". In both versions that I have on cd, the line comes about 1:03/1:04 into the song. The clean version is on Now That's What I Call Music Vol 5.

I just went online and found an old store stock copy of this 45 -- it was a favorite of mine when I was a kid, and ive been trying to find as many of my old favorites as i could, on 45, so this one is a nice addition...i had no idea there was even a censored version until just now seeking the song out....
Live in stereo.

Interesting. Though this is technically a reissue single, a "Back to Back Hits" type of thing. Their subsequent hit, "If I Am (Radio Edit)," is on the flip side, which means this was released months after "Absolutely" peaked on the chart.

We got in two different promo CD singles for this song back in 2000, and here are the particulars:

-Ninedays-"Absolutely story of a girl" (BSK 45589)
1-(non-described version) (listed 3:16; actual 3:13)

-Nine Days-"Absolutely (story of a girl)" (non-numbered, official label CD-R) (no listed time)
1-Old Version (actual 3:09)

There is a CD in the database called "Lizzie McGuire Total Party," and it has a "neither" version of "Absolutely." Although I don't own the disc, I'd be willing to bet it is the Radio Disney Edit of the song. When I worked there, they played the song quite frequently, and the edited version cut out the first two lines of the second verse completely. Therefore, the second verse started with "How did we wind up this way..." I do not know if this was given to us by the record company or if it was done in house.

Do you know the difference between the two?

To answer Nick's question from nine years ago: The "Old Version" is the explicit lyrics version with "shit" in the second verse.

I was not aware that there was an explicit of the song...
Favorite two expressions to live by on this board: "You can't download vinyl" and "Not everything is available on CD."
