Has anyone seen this yet? So far it's only out for download with the CD to
follow on the 21st.

It's a bunch of Motown tracks with some instruments taken out. Some songs
are done from the mono versions. And probably the coolest thing of all...the
tracks are longer than the versions we're all used to hearing. They let those
master tapes run and used every bit of them.

I stumbled upon these tracks on iTunes this past weekend. I love Michael's Motown stuff and will probably get the disc when it hits retail, but you can also argue this is another example of Motown (UMG) cashing in on the opportunity that has been presented. Every one of the dozen songs included has been released prior except these are all new mixes.

I may be naïve but I suspect this release was in the works well before MJ's death, though maybe it was on hold waiting for a rainy day. Motown pushed the stripped "I'll Be There" to radio only days after the news.

I think it was in the works before he died as well.

Did anyone actually get this disc? I liked all of these new stripped mixes plus was reminded of a b-side that is a lost gem ("We've Got A Good Thing Going"). I also purchased the I Want You Back! (Unreleased Masters) disc that includes some alternate versions along with new songs.

I got the CD. It's nice to listen to, but still can't beat the full productions I
think. I got the Unreleased Masters too. I like that one quite a bit.
