The actual U.S. commercial 45 has running time of (3:26), and has the same listed time on the record label. (Arista AS 1-9579)
"Point of no return" on my stock vinyl LP "EXPOSURE" which Japan released (Arista-Japan Phonogram Company) has the actual LP running time of (6:05)
About the Japan LP, another 4 Top 40 hits on the LP are all the same running time as the U.S. CD "EXPOSURE"

Does anyone have the U.S. pressing's "EXPOSURE" vinyl LP? Please, report the vinyl LP running time information. Thanks.

I don't have the Exposure LP, abagon, but I do have another question about the song.

The song was released twice. The first release was in 1985 on a 7" and 12", both Arista 9326, and it got some club play and some airplay in New York at the time. Two years later, the song was rerecorded with new singers, and released in 1987 on Arista 9579. These new singers were also featured on the full Exposure LP.

The original 1985 version has since gotten very hard to find. I have the 12" version at home, but not the 7". Does anyone here have the Arista 9326 7"?

Thank you for the additional information, CFTP.

I have the compilation vinyl LP "Hot Hits" by K-Tel (released in 1988 U.S.) The LP includes "I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)", "C'est La Vie", "Human", "Don't Dream It's Over" etc. "Point Of No Return" is also included. This actual running time is (3:52). It seems this is the edit version of the vinyl LP "EXPOSURE"(my LP is the Japanese product). The (3:52) version may be the sound from the Arista 9326.

At last, I got the US "Exposure" vinyl LP! (Arista AL-8441/ matrix # of side 2 : AL-8441-SB-RCA1)
The actual running time is (6:06), the listed time is "6:05" on the LP record label.
The run time of the CD album "Exposure" on the database is (3:27)
Therefore, the vinyl album version is different from the CD album version.

I can confirm, thanks to abagon's help, that the "Billboard Top Dance Hits 1985" CD contains the LP version of "Point Of No Return." The database currently states "remix."

I didn't see discussion on this, but did the 1984 7'' version ever make CD or digital download? Does anyone know what the major difference between the 1984 and 1987 release is? I see it times in at 3:10 and says x-posed rather than expose.

I have the 2CD "Exposure" remaster and there's a version
on there titled "1985 Single Version" with a listed
running time of 3:25. Not sure if that's the same one
you're referring to, but if it is, I imagine the main
difference would be that the original lineup were on
vocals.

^What Dan said. The original was a huge dance hit in '85 before their
pop breakthrough with "Come Go With Me" and the lead vocal was
performed by a different vocalist. There are a lot of people who love
the '85 versions, but they never sound "right" to me, as I learned this
song from the Top 40 radio.
