In listening to the The Playboy Years over at iTunes, it sounds as though "Winners & Losers" is an original recording and not a re-recording.

Is this true?

Its probably a needle drop. I bought the track and sounds like CRAP at the end of the song with major noise reduction.

yes, it's a needle drop. The record company president John Edwards, president of Renaissance Records, told me so himself that he used noise reduction to reduce the record's pops and clicks. It's way overprocessed and it's very noticeable at the end of the song.

It doesn't seem like it will ever see the light of day.
The song wasn't a huge chart hit.
For 99 cents its passable.
I always liked the piano in that one.

Who would have access to the Playboy recordings?
When "Fallin' In Love" was on the "Have A Nice Day" series of discs didn't it say courtesy MCA?

But at this time who knows where the masters are.

I've been told by Ann Hamilton (ex-wife of member Dan Hamilton and co-writer of "Winners & Loser") that Sony owns the Playboy masters, including the HJF&R masters from the Playboy period, and that that's where the master tapes are supposedly located. I think the Rhino series said Courtesy of Sony for "Fallin' in Love" but I could be remembering wrong.

This might be a nice one for Eric to reissue...if possible.

Would Eric Records even be interested in reissue something like this? Bill Buster isn't exactly a big '70s fan!

Not knowing Bill Buster, but they did have a couple 70's Pop CD's as I recall.

A new Eric CD with some more "lost" favorites would look good along side the other fantastic discs they've done over the years.
Great idea!

Since Bill isn't a big 70's fan maybe someone on the panel would like to lend a hand.

According to some reviews on Amazon, the CD, The Playboy Years was reissued again in 2007.

Is that the version on iTunes? Or, is it not worth tracking down a copy...
