Is the mono commercial 45 a fold down?

I recall hearing the single version in stereo on the radio
in '75, so there probably was a true stereo promo at least.

Can anyone check their promo 45s and report?

Thanks!

Andy

OK! OK!
I just checked my commercial copy and mine too is mono, though the label says stereo. The B side "Baby Don't Let This
Good Love Die" is stereo. I don't have a promo of this.

Guess it's up to you John! :-)

Same results here, I have a stereo/mono DJ copy and a stock copy. All sides mono, except for the "Baby Don't Let This Good Love Die" B side of the stock.

If I'm understanding this correctly, did the instrumental section in the
middle never appear on the original 45 or LP - but only in the later '70s
elsewhere on some LPs?

Though I love the song, I never bought it on 45 or LP. And all I can say is
when I first heard the instrumental section on CD (a Rhino CD), it didn't
seem "new" to me, like "I never heard that part before!"
