My commercial 45 for this, which is mono, has a listed time of (3:40), but an actual time of (3:36).

I just was going through my 45s of the early '70s to see which are in mono
or stereo, when I discovered that, not only do I have a mono single of this song (inner ring # XDR-50933-1) but a stereo 45 as well (inner ring # 2XDR 50933). There's no marking on the label indicating stereo. For what it's worth, the mono single label # is MAM-3619, while on the stereo single it's 45-3619. Was the stereo 45 a re-release after the song hit big? |

Paul, my guess is that one of the several pressing plants London Records was using at the time (Shelley, Columbia, PRC or Monarch) may have pressed some commercial copies using the stamper from the DJ 45's stereo side. Different pressing plants is also the likely explanation for the MAM-3619/45-3619 record number variations.
That's actually the letter "Z" prefix - as in ZXDR - on your stereo copy's matrix number, which was London's code for stereo on their 45s. The 1976-ish reissue 45 on the MAM "great hits" series was mono, as was its flip side, "Out Of The Question." Edited by Yah Shure |

Thanks. It's such a slapdash era for mono vs. stereo releases of 45s.
