Pat:

I've compared the commercial vinyl 45 of Restless Heart's "I'll Still Be Loving You" to its LP counterpart. While the 45 does fade out earlier than the LP, it might also be worth noting that the 45 runs considerably faster than the LP. Therefore, for CDs containing "I'll Still Be Loving You", would it be more accurate to change the (LP length) comments in the database to (LP speed and length)?

I would like to replicate this 45. Could you indicate how much faster the 45 is than the LP (percentage), and the exact length of the 45? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Reviving Roscoe's question regarding speed increase to make the LP match the 45. Can anyone help?

In attempting to recreate the fade, I got in a commercial 45 for this song. The copy I have, with a deadwax of 5065-7-R-A - 1 - 5 has a listed time of 3:57, but an actual time of 3:59. The 45 is about 2 seconds faster than a digital copy I have from RCA Country Legends.

The actual running time of my 45 is 3:57. The deadwax is the same as the eriejwg's 45.

So, eriejwg, are you saying that the song is 2 seconds faster after you recreate the fade? Can you provide where you faded to before speeding it up, and then what % you needed to increase the speed? Thanks!

Sorry everyone for not providing specific info on this until now. Unfortunately, I don't make notes when I do any of my edits, so I had to retrieve my Restless Heart The Best of CD (RCA 61041) and upload the LP length and speed of "I'll Still Be Loving You" on my digital editing software to calculate the speed difference. On this particular CD, you can increase the track's pitch by 1.45% and then begin fading at around 3:34.5 and ending at approximately 3:57.9.

And I agree with Abagon's commercial 45 run time... My mp3 copy of the vinyl 45 runs 3:57.

Thanks Todd for the specifics. I didn't have a chance to load the completed file into Audition last night, so I was doing an 'ear' listen to when it started to fade. I will delete my comment above so as not to mislead anyone on fade points.

I must have a different pressing of the 45, though.
