pat

the db should be updated...........
the cd version from the cd "very necessary" should state that it contains the "lp version"

the cassingle edits out the words "retard" at the 3:20 mark of the rap........i don't know if the cd maxi-single issued concurrent with the cassingle contains the correct edited version and length.........the cassingle fades out to the 4:02 mark while the full cd/lp version fades out to the 4:09 mark........the cassingle sleeve states that the version on the cassingle is the "album version" but it clearly is NOT the album version.. ...anyone know if the cd maxi-single issued as london 042285731521 contains the proper edits and fade??

i just received the import cd single issued as ffrr 869-249-2 and it contains the correct edit at the 3:20 mark but runs 0:02 shorter than the cassingle..........anyone???

Ed--

That's the version I used to play on the air when it was on the charts -- the LP version with "retard" missing. It has some "DJ scratch" sound effects in its place (pulled from an earlier part of the song, I think).

I have the maxi-single at home, so I'll check it when I get there and give you an update, unless someone posts before me.

Great catch, Ed! I have the U.S. maxi single, and though it calls the first track Album Version, the word "retard" is scrambled, and it runs 4:02.

So the cassingle version is the first track on the US CD maxi-single.

Brian, when you say "scrambled" do you mean they reversed the word or placed "scratch" sound effects in its place?

Nevermind. I just checked my maxi CD, and it's the version with "scratching" sfx in place of the word---same version we played on air.
