Thanks so much Jody, I should have mentioned that someone helped me out yesterday. :)

Wanted to add to this thread, I recently purchased the promo CD for "Miracle" and it features the shorter 4:34 edit.

The disc itself is almost identical to the scan provided by Ed, but also includes the listed time (4:29) in the empty space at the top left and the catalog number is changed. The catalog number on the inserts is ASCD-2222, as on the 4:59 edit, but the DISC states ASCD-2252. It appears Arista "updated" the mix midway through promotion yet used the same artwork for both releases.

The video uses the 4:59 edit. Does anyone have insight as to which was the more commonly played version at radio? Also, which of these two promos seems to be more common?

- the (4:34) edit has a drum beat missing at (4:19); it's
only a bongo on this edit, whereas the other DJ edit has
a drum beat and bongo together---a mix difference rather
than editing difference

- the (4:34) edit starts fading around (4:19), which is
about 15 seconds earlier in the song than the longer edit

- the longer edit has a quick fade and about seven more
seconds of audio at the end than the (4:34)
version

Thanks Aaron for noting this difference! The album
version is missing the drum beat, so the 5:03 DJ version
can be considered a remix as opposed to the 4:34 which is
only edited.

Or is it possible that the drum beat is in a different spot on the album? (i.e. it had been cut out of the longer DJ version, so I couldn't create the short edit from the long edit)

Hey Aaron, not sure I'm understanding your question but
that final drum beat is the same one used from the second
chorus on.

To provide an update on this, the 4:59 version on the promo CD single has a very small mix different at 4:36 compared to the LP version, which is the missing drum beat referenced earlier. The 4:59 version, therefore, cannot be edited from the LP version. The 4:59 version HAS a drum beat (at 4:36), while the LP version does not (same part occurs at 5:11 of the LP version).

By contrast, it appears the shorter 4:34 version is a straight edit of the LP version. As mentioned earlier, there is no drum beat at 4:19, which musically matches the same part of the LP version at 5:11.
