A few questions for anyone who has these promo CD Singles:
Steve Winwood - "One And Only Man" (Virgin PRCD 3517)
When I try to rip Track 2, the "LP Version", I always get an error and I've tried a few different disc drives. My disc has no scratches and is clean, so I don't know why this
continues to happen. Just wondering if anyone has this particular disc and has had the same problem with it.
Natalie Cole - "When I Fall In Love" (EMI-Manhattan DPRO #04083)
Track 1 is listed as "7" Version" and runs just under 4 1/2 minutes, although no running time is listed on the back inlay or the disc itself. The 7"/Vinyl 45 states a running time
of 4:12. Does anyone have the actual 45 and can confirm the running time? I just want to see if the 45 and Promo CD Single match up as far as the length of the song goes.
Thanks for any information.

Track 2 of my "One And Only Man" promo CD rips just
fine.
I timed my US commercial 45 of "When I Fall In Love" at
4:28. I'm glad to hear the promo CD has the 45 version,
because it is not on any commercial CD I can find.

Thanks for that information, Paul. Not sure why they
decided to put 4:12 as the running time if it runs about
16 seconds longer. I know the record companies sometimes
put the wrong time on a 45 label in hopes of increasing
the song's chances for airplay, but 4:12 seems like a
strange length to come up with when they could have just
typed in 4:00 or 4:15. Oh well.
By the way, in comparing the 7" and LP Versions, it seems
that the 7" is an edit of the LP Version, not just an
early fade.

At first, I thought I had the 45 version of Natalie Cole's
"When I Fall In Love" from the album Everlasting
but then I realized I recreated it from a 45 dub, so the
45 version is recreatable.
