I have Elvis Presley's "Anything That's Part Of You" on
two CD's, the Essential 60's Masters set and
Elvis In Nashville, and the two differ in the
point at which the guitar in the right channel comes in.
On Essential 60's Masters, the guitar does not
come in until the second verse (about the 0:40 mark). On
Elvis In Nashville, the guitar starts at about
the 0:02 mark. I don't have an original 45, only a Gold
Standard reissue 45, on which the guitar does not come
in until the second verse.

Paul, what is "Elvis in Nashville"? Can you provide a
link to the CD online? I'm not seeing any CD with that
exact title.

I have the ballad on a Time Life CD. All I hear is the
piano. I'm sorry I don't have the 45 to compare. In the
online database the only time there is a note on any of
the listings for this song is one alternate take (which
runs longer than any of the others).

According to Keith Flynn's amazing Elvis Presley
recording sessions website, "Elvis in Nashville"
contains Take 1, which is not the original released
take.
"From Nashville to Memphis: The Essential 60s Masters"
contains Take 10, which is the original single and
album version.

According to the info I see on the detailed Elvis Sessionography websites,
"Elvis In Nashville 1956 - 1971" contains Take 1, whereas the 45 and stereo
version from "Elvis' Golden Records Vol. 3" is Take 10. In the database, "Elvis
By The Presleys" is Take 9.

Thanks for the info, gentlemen. I hadn't compared
Elvis's vocal on the two versions before posting; they
are clearly different takes. I see that Pat has
already updated the database.
As the database indicates, Elvis In Nashville
(the cover adds 1956-1971 to the title, the
spine and the disc itself do not) has the hard-to-find
mono mix of 1968's "Guitar Man", which just missed the
Billboard Top 40 (#43) and just made RPM's Canadian
Top 40 (#36). It also has the mono mix of "Judy", a
1961 album track not released as a single until 1967,
that did not come close to the Billboard Top 40 (#78)
but kind of made the Top 40 in Canada, where the two-
sided hit "There's Always Me"/"Judy" reached #39.
