I got the email this morning. I sure wish I hadn't ordered the 2010 edition
just a couple months ago!

Hey Paul
Do you plan on completing the Cash Box Top 100 charts series? You did the 60s and 70s so all that's left is the 80s and half of the 50s and 90s.
And of course...the Music Vendor/Record World charts.

We've started work on the 1950s charts, but we're still missing good enough copies on a few.
We have no firm plans on any other chart books at this time. We have very limited staff and resources these days, so are taking things one book at a time.

Just a quick update...the new R&B Singles book is now in stock.
Also, we've had to hold off on the Cash Box 1950s charts for now, but we are working on volume one of the week-by-week Record World charts (1964-72), to be announced very soon!

Would love to see an '80s Cashbox chart book before too long. Personally, I'd prefer that over the '50s book.

I can't recall what year Cash Box ended but will you be doing a volume 2, and what year would it go up to?

It's actually Record World and the publication ceased with the issue dated April 10, 1982, so a volume 2 would cover 1973-82.

Certainly a possibility down the road.

Radio & Records charts, please!!
Many programmers really relied on it, so the paper is a good snapshot of what got worked & what got played on Hit Radio without the sales flukes/phenomenons that clouded our perception of radio recall.
Assign a below-chart number to the "new & active" & "others getting significant action" sections!
