I currently own 4 different promos for "Fastlove" by George Michael. Here are the details:

PRO-CD-4867 (all versions contain "bullshit"; times are printed on a sticker affixed to the jewel case and don't appear anywhere else)
1. Radio Edit (4:39; actual 4:42)
2. Full Version (printed & actual 5:24)

PRO-CD-4874 (all versions contain "bullshit"; times are printed on a sticker affixed to the jewel case and don't appear anywhere else)
1. Radio Edit (printed 4:39; actual 4:42)
2. A/C Summer Mix (actual 4:40 - no printed time)
3. Full Version (printed & actual 5:24)

PRO-CD-4895
1. Radio Edit-Clean (printed & actual 4:42)

PRO-CD-4896
1. Radio Edit-Clean (printed & actual 4:42)
2. A/C Summer Mix-Clean (printed & actual 4:40)

Did any radio stations play the uncensored "radio edit" ?

My station played cut 1 from the last promo listed, the "Radio Edit-
Clean" version. I don't remember us ever playing the uncensored
version.

By the way, the clean edit can be created using the uncensored
version. Essentially, it replaces "shit" with "some" from the first line of
the song. It ends up sounding like "all that bullsome conversation."

Really, now I have to go back and double-check...I believe I have the clean promo. I remember MTV just muting the bad word. I guess they received videos with 2 channels...one with music and one with vocals.

MTV often times had special edits that weren't found anywhere else, and that may have been prepared before the clean radio versions were made.

Like the infamous "Gin & Juice" by Snoop? What bothers me about that one is that I know I heard the MTV video version on the radio all the time back in '94.

You and me both! I've been hunting for that Snoop edit for years with no
luck. Unfortunately, none of the radio stations in my area played the song,
except for the one I worked for. We only played it at night, and we used the
copy on a TM Century HitDisc, which was the normal Radio Version that did
not censor "indo."

So weird...I could see if it was an obscure song but even my high school students that I teach know the song. MTV still plays it when they play "old skool" videos. I think I recently saw it on one of the MTV stations when they were playing nothing but old school hip-hop videos and it was indeed the "smokin' smokin'" version.

Tony Moran was commissioned to remix the track, but ultimately DreamWorks SKG decided not to use them (his mixes). They were never released nor promoted.   Eventually,
his full mix leaked, and it's amazing.   Very similar to what he was doing at the time with Gloria Estefan, Michael Jackson, and Tina Arena.

With George Michael's passing yesterday, I've been
revisiting some of my lesser played George Michael
tracks.

Ed was kind enough to send me a copy of his radio edit,
which did not censor the word "bullshit." Using Aaron's
editing instructions, it's very easy to create the
"bullsome" edit, yet the word makes no sense. LOL.

My copy is from Top Hits USA and they reverse the word
on "shit."

I own a promo CD single of Snoop Dogg's "Gin & Juice" from 1994 and it contains only one version of the song (no version mentioned either) and it omits the word "indo" and replaces it with a sound effect of someone inhaling. Was this the clean radio edit?

What's the catalog number of your 1-track promo? "What's My Name" was definitely a 1-track promo, but I've never seen a US 1-track for "Gin And Juice." Either way, the version you describe is the "Radio Version (No Indo)" from PRCD-5456.

Am I the only one who had to Google "indo"? Never heard
the word before.

I'm stunned they put the explicit 'full version' (which is both the album and commercial single version) on the Last Christmas soundtrack. I don't believe a clean full version has ever been released.

Are you referring to Gin & Juice or Fastlove?
