pat

the 45 version of the above song runs 3:44 and is just
an early fade of the version from the "misfits"
cd........your entry has the full 3:58 version as the
45 version which is incorrect.........the 45 actually
runs 3:44 and is just an early fade........

But the full version is 4:58, not 3:58. So do you mean that the 45 version fades to 4:44 -- or 3:44?

the actual 45 runs 3:44 and is identical to the 3:58 version but faded 0:14 early.......it's not even close to the 4:58 version!!!

I just timed my commercial 45, which has a listed time of (3:44), but an actual time of (3:47). My deadwax is "2628-S    NG".

Kind of odd for a song that was released in '78, but the 45 is in mono! I'm guessing that the stereo 45 edit (but longer) on the Misfits CD must have been done to replicate the 45, or were there mix differences, too?

My commercial 45 both states and plays stereo. It's a Santa Maria Columbia pressing. Deadwax info is 2628-S 1A.

Hmmm... I'm wondering if my dub might possibly be from the promo 45 then. Was there a mono/stereo promo? That would explain why I'm hearing mono.

Arista promos were (for the most part) mono/stereo in that era, so that's a pretty good chance.

The only one I can think of that wasn't that way is Barry Manilow's "Copacabana", which is long/short both stereo.
