I notice Trace Adkins' "You're Gonna Miss This" is remixed on the Now 28 various artists CD (EMI 08144) compared to the album version. As is typically the case with country songs that crossover onto pop radio, the steel guitars are replaced by electric guitars as heard on the Now disc. Does anyone know the official name of this mix? And has it appeared on a promo CD single release or was it serviced to Top 40 radio stations via digital download?

I just recently acquired "You're Gonna Miss This" on a Trace Adkins CD that's currently not listed in the database called The Definitive Greatest Hits: Til the Last Shot's Fired on Capitol Nashville 48837. On it, the song runs 3:43.
Meanwhile, I've still not yet been able to determine the name and origin of the different version appearing on the Now 28 disc (as described in my previous post). Any help solving this mystery would be appreciated.

It's possible that the version on the NOW CD may be an
Adult Contemporary mix. TM Studios, on their GoldDisc
series, lists an A/C Remix on one of their Adult CD's.

Trace Adkins performed this song live on Celebrity
Apprentice while a 'contestant' on the show. This
live performance was released as a digital single.
(Capitol iTunes songs were already 256 kbps in 2008;
most other labels were still 128 kbps.) The first week
that sales of the live digital single impacted the Hot
100, the song surged from #40 to #12.
Unlike songs like Daughtry's "What About Now" and
Pink's "Glitter In The Air" (which were Top 40 hits
almost solely because of digital sales of a television
performance), "You're Gonna Miss This" was already a
major country airplay hit when the live digital single
was released.
