I have what's called the "Radio Version" of City High's "What Would You Do" on my Promo Only Mainstream Radio DJ CD subscription series and it has a run time of 2:49. This version comes from the promo CD single release on Interscope 10286. On it, a couple of objectionable words heard on the album version are essentially "scrambled" and I believe there is a :05-:06 edit in there somewhere as well.

Although I don't have the Now 7 various artists CD (Virgin 10749), I'd say there's an excellent chance that the radio version of "What Would You Do" was used on this CD, given the Now series history of using clean versions.

We also had a CD-R called Extra Clean. It muted the vocal parts "rape" and the garbled "sh!t".

By the way, my research indicates City High's "What Would You Do" was also made available on a commercial CD single release and it's reported to contain the album version. Does anyone have a copy who can pass along the run time info?

My commercial CD single on Booga Basement/Interscope 497489 runs 2:54
(no printed time on the disc or tray insert) and is indeed the album version.

The five second edit for the radio version occurs around 1:28 at the
breakdown, although it's not just a simple edit (some of the spoken part
removed overlaps sound effects that remain).

Thanks for info once again, mstgator and mainrhythm. You've both been a big help answering my recent questions regarding Top 40 hits from the '00s! (<----- Abbreviating the decade that way just doesn't look right, does it?)
