I have a promo 45 of "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again". On the A-side it gives a tape # of 2260 RE-S. (The B-side has a tape # of 2260.) I recall this promo 45 was indeed a remix, as indicated by the "RE" on the tape #. But I'm listening to it now and don't really hear any differences. Does anyone else have this 45 and can you compare it to the version on CD and see if it's different? This may be a case where there's an album version (which equals the single version) and a promo single version. But this hasn't really been discussed at all on this board.

I don't think that it's a remix, but the first lacquer was rejected and a re-cutting done. Which RE usually indicates as a Revision.

But I've often seen RE listed for single remixes, especially on BMG products (like Arista).

It'll be interesting to find out what the case is for this song.
