The female trio Salt-N-Pepa has been a hot topic on the message board tonight so allow me to continue with the trend...

Thanks once again to Edtop40, I've come to realize that the commercial cassingle copies of "Do You Want Me" feature the European Radio Remix on the A-side and run 3:15. The single version has yet to appear on a domestic CD release.

Now, Pat shows the song with a run time of 3:29 on the parent CD Blacks' Magic (Next Plateau 1019 and 828362). Assuming the run time isn't a typo, does anyone know the origins of the 3:49 version of "Do You Want Me" that has appeared on all other CD releases? I notice the B-side of the cassette single contains what's called the Original Vocal featuring Hurby Luv Bug mix with a printed time of 3:51. Anyone know if this is the version that most commonly surfaces on CD?

I have this from a TM Century disc running (3:51), which is the exact same version I remember hearing on the video. Also, allmusic.com lists the run time as (4:52) for this song, so it could be a typo. The song sample online for the LP version sounds like the same mix of the one that runs (3:51)...probably an edit of the LP version.

The 3:29 run time is a typo on the cd "Black's Magic" and the correct run time is 3:49 which is the LP version. This version also appears on the B-side of the cassette single which calls this version the "Original Vocal featuring Hurby Luv Bug mix"

I notice that the cassette single states that the "Original Vocal" side is a remix as well. Does this indeed match the Blacks' Magic LP version (meaning it was already remixed on the full length release), or could there be subtle differences?

Here's a link to the cassette labels found on discogs: http://www.discogs.com/Salt-N-Pepa-Do-You-Want-Me-Remix-Fing erprints/release/3899746

Thanks!

I have the promo CD single if it's any help at all; however, I don't own the cassette single or full-length album.
