Given the discovery of all the newly-created edits for the MJ compilations (Off The Wall, Human Nature, Man In The Mirror, Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', etc.), has anyone checked on the accuracy of the edited versions for "Rock With You" and "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" on Number Ones and Essential?

It wouldn't surprise me at all if those were recently edited from the LP versions for those compilations.

The promo edit of "Thriller" seems to be legit, because I don't think it can be created from the LP version. The LP version has some howling sound effects that are not present on the intro to the promo edit.

My God, your ears, Aaron. I never noticed that.

I'm pretty sure Rock With You and Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough are
correct.

Exactly how many/which of the singles on The Essential and Number Ones are confirmed to be the true, direct-from-the-master-tapes single versions?

The single was close to the same length as the LP version,
save for several seconds. I don't have my 45 handy at the
moment. The version of "Don't Stop Till You get Enough"
that showed up on the recent Essential
CD is the radio promo edit.
