Pat:
The database currently (and correctly) shows most CD appearances of Ace of Base's "Lucky Love" with the comment "acoustic version". However, this was initially confusing to me because it led me to think the "acoustic version" was somehow different from the single or album version, when in reality they are all one in the same.
To help alleviate confusion for other database subscribers, and because a European 45 version also currently exists on CD, perhaps there should be an addendum to the existing "acoustic version" comments to read something like: "acoustic version, which is the U.S. hit version".

or even better, "acoustic version, which is the U.S. single and album version". I think that's clearest of all.

Ok, I just now noticed something else... On my U.K. import CD single release of "Lucky Love" (Mega 577247), something can clearly be heard at the tail end of the "acoustic version" that sounds like the acoustic guitar player gently slapping his/her guitar strings to abruptly end the final note. This guitar slap is not heard at the end of the Ace of Base The Bridge CD on Arista 18806.
Does anyone have a U.S. commercial single release who can report if the guitar slap is present at the very end?

Hmmm....the acoustic version was never played in our radio station. The one
that was played was a remix uptempo version which I thought was the hit
version of the song. The remix version is hard to find on CD and is only
available on import.

I believe this is the correct remix version of the song our radio station played...

Ron, I do recall hearing the European Mix (aka Original Version) on CHR stations. It's cut 2 on the US promo CD single. The station I worked for always played the Acoustic Version, though, which is cut 1.

I always heard the acoustic version on radio stations, too. I was happy to later find the more electronic version and actually like both versions a lot.
BTW, a strange thing. I just read this post now, but about 4 hours ago, I was looking at a folder on my computer and saw "Lucky Love"!

My US promo CD (Arista ASCD-2979) has the following tracks (all printed run times are accurate within a second or two):
1. Acoustic Version - 2:52 (has the guitar slap/pick at the end; the A-side of commercial cassette and 7-inch singles) 2. European Mix - 2:52 3. Frankie Knuckles Mix - 3:41 (this is the version currently identified as 'remix' in the database; the B-side of commercial cassette and 7-inch singles) 4. Vission Lorimer Edit - 3:37
FWIW, the version on the Canadian CD, Hit Zone 2, is the acoustic version without the guitar slap/pick at the end.
