I just bought an old promo for this tonight, a sampler, and each track has fake "crackles" between each song that sandwich right up against the beginning and end of each track with no pause. Is it like that on the box set or is this just something they did for the sampler? It's damned annoying.

No, the complete box set does not have any snap, crackle or pops between tracks.

Thanks, Pat. I wish I would have bought the full set while it was in print... It's going for big bucks on Ebay now. I'm still combing brick-and-mortar stores in my area trying to find a copy laying around.

Brian:
Last winter, I found a still sealed copy of the Beg, Scream, & Shout box set at a second hand record shop specializing in R&B oldies. On top of that, the box set was selling at the original retail price of $80! I learned about this record store through Goldmine or Discoveries magazine. If you haven't already, you might try checking the classified ads in those magazines and see if there are any such specialty record shops near your area. Who knows, one of them may have a copy too!
