The actual commercial 45 run time of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark's "If You Leave" is 4:26. (Timing info once again comes to us from abagon. The printed record label time is 4:24.) I only post this because database CD appearances of this song run 4:21-4:28.

I'm hoping somebody who has the original A&M Records 12" from 1986 can help me out here. Discogs claims (based on the label, I'm sure) that the "Extended Version" (produced by Tom Lord-Alge) runs 5:59.

I've come up with two mixes, one labeled the "digital remix" (which has a sample from Right Said Fred's 'I'm Too Sexy," placing it in the early 90s) runs 6:38, and another labeled as the Hot Tracks Dance Remix runs 6:00.

I'd believe the Hot Tracks Remix is the original 12" mix... except Hot Tracks was their own production company.... and this does sound a bit like one of their efforts.

Does anybody know the actual length of the original 12" Extended Remix, and have you found it on any CD (foreign or domestic)?

I own the US 12" single of "If You Leave". It runs about 5:57 on my turntable. It is a completely different mix than the Hot Tracks version, which sounds like it has been re-arranged from the album version with the addition of an over-dubbed dance beat.
