my commercial 45 has edit in the intro (and no "you made a fool of me..." vocal intro)... also, the 45 version is mono...

That's right, the 45 cut off that intro and just starts with the piano.

I don't recall it being mono, though.

commercial 45, or at least the one i have, is definitely mono, as i just listened to it the other day on an old aircheck tape... 1976 seems kind of late for a mono 45, so maybe only stereo true 45 version is the dj promo... can anyone confirm?

I have a commercial 45 on this as well. Says stereo on the label. UAST-16475-E. Listed time is 3:15, actual is 3:17.

john... slap it on the tt with your cans and see what you think, 'cause my label says "stereo", too... maybe it's just poor separation, but the LP version is definitely wide stereo...

My two stock copies both state and play stereo. Deadwax: UAST-16475-E-S-2. The only mono version I ever encountered was on the stereo/mono promo 45.

thanks for the photo, yah... i'm gonna have to dig out the 45 and recheck for stereo/mono and deadwax info... but then again, the only wax may be in me ears!

Several other edits throughout the 45 as well. The Rhino Have A Nice Decade Box got almost all of them correct (they forgot one near the end, but other than that they did a pretty decent job of replicating the edit).
