Throwing it open for the class--while admittedly I'm more of a late 1960s and 1970s fan, there are some 1980s tunes I do like and "Don't Lose My Number" is one of them.

Anybody have knowledge about how to make the DJ 45 out of the commercial version (I do believe the LP and commercial 45 are the same--correct me if I'm wrong)?

TIA.

Regarding Phil Collins' "Don't Lose My Number", the database currently states that commercial copies are all 4:46. This must be another instance where the time is based on what is printed on the record label because abagon reports the actual run time at 4:48. I know this is just a marginal :02 discrepency, but the 4:48 time is identical to the song's lone 45/LP CD appearance in the database.

my commercial 45 issued as atlantic 89536 does not state a version on the label but does list a run time of 4:46 and does indeed run 4:46...if you fade out the cd version from the below cd from the 4:41 mark to 4:46 you'll recreate the proper 45 version...

(S) (4:48) Atlantic 81240 No Jacket Required

I noticed that my posting for the actual running time is wrong. The 45 actual running time is 4:46 as well as ed's report. Also the vinyl LP's time is 4:46. It seems that I had a typo. when I e-mailed to Todd in 2008. Sorry, Pat, ed, Todd and all the database members.

The database currently reports that the short DJ 45 version of Phil Collins' "Don't Lose My Number" has a run time of 4:11, which happens to be the printed time on the record label. I have a dub of the promo 45 with an actual run time of 4:06. Can anyone else verify that this is the correct run time on the promo 45 side listed as the "short version"?

I just recreated the DJ 45 edit. Using the "No Jacket
Required" CD, there were 4 edits to recreate the DJ 45
version.
