Although this song is not in the database, it did peak at #31 Billboard, in 9/77. My commercial 45 has a listed time of (3:55), but an actual time of (4:02). The version on my EMI Greatest Hits CD runs (4:27), so there's further investigation needed here. When I have further details, I will post them.

Hi Jim, For what it's worth; The original UK 45 (RAK 259) and LP vinyl version are both (4:27). I have some UK CD releases by Hot Chocolate, all ran about (4:27). So to my knowledge is the (4:02) version never been released on CD.

Great info, Bjorn! In my opinion, it is fascinating to learn about 45 version differences between the U.S. and the European releases of the same song.

I second Jim's comment!

Jim (or anyone), do you know where the edit occurs in this song, or if the US 45 is simply a fade of the LP version?

I just compared the two and did not detect a difference other than length.

So instead of 34 seconds of "dit-dit doo doo" vamping, it sounds like there's just 8 seconds of it, and I'm guessing the fade starts well before this "dit-dit doo doo" vamp on the US 45 (unless it's just a quick fade over the 8 seconds)?

my commercial 45 for the hot chocolate song "so you win again" issued as big tree 16096 states the run time on the label as 3:55 but actually runs 4:01 and is just a fade of the full length 4:32 cd/lp version.....if you fade for 0:09 from 3:52 to 4:01, you'll effectivly re-create the 45 version.....
