Both my commercial and promo 45s have a listed time of (3:45), and both sides of my promo 45 actually DO run (3:45). But my commercial 45 has an actual time of (3:48). There is obviously different deadwax info for my promo and stock 45s. Its only current CD appearance in the database runs (3:53).

With a difference of only a few seconds between the promo, stock & CD versions, it would make sense that the extra time is in length. Is that the case, Jim?

That's what it sounds like to me, Aaron. I will shortly be providing you with the chance to confirm this with your own ears, if you get my drift!

Once you're able to compare the 45 to the CD, Aaron, please let us know what you discover. My intuition tells me we have yet another case here where the commercial 45 fades out slightly sooner than the LP.

my commercial 45 issued as asylum 47223 states a run time of 3:45 and truely runs 3:45 and is just an early fade of the full 3:53 cd/lp version....

For good measure, it would be appropriate for the lone database CD appearance of Lindsey Buckingham's "Trouble" to have an "LP length" comment next to it.

How much shorter is the 45 length?

Can anyone give fade points to achieve the proper 45 length?

CD copies are about 8 seconds longer. If I have a chance today, I'll
pull out my 45 copy and try to answer the fade question.

Did you ever pull the 45? Just curious almost 10 years later....:)

Could it have something to do with the count-in intro
rather than the fade?

Hmm, did I pull the 45 ten years ago? I can't seem to
remember...
The fade is from 3:34 to 3:45. Everything else is the
same, including the drum intro.

Just listened to my 45 dub. Fade out is right on the
money! 3:34-3:45.
