"Lose Yourself" by Eminem was supposedly released on a commercial 12" vinyl single but the only 12" singles I see listed on Ebay are all dj copies. Does anyone have the commercial 12" single so I can determine if the 4:25 censored version that appears on the 2004 Grammy Nominees cd is the 45 version?

I have the commercial 12" and the first version is indeed the 4:25 clean version.

So I take it you're leaning toward considering the 12-inch 45 to be the 45 version, Pat, if that was the only single issued. If so, I'm inclined to agree, as long as it's a regular-length version of the song.

Well Joel Whitburn lists the 12" single as being the "45 version" in his Top Pop Singles book so I will have to go along with his choice.

There are actually two different "clean" versions, released on two separate promo CD singles. I have one of the two:

INTR-10840-2 IN02
1. Clean (4:26 listed & actual)
2. Album (5:26 listed & actual)

This particular copy has a bright red circle on the back insert with "NEW VERSION" in white letters. This is the second issue where the objectionable words are muted. It is issued on a record label CD-R, although it does have professionally printed artwork on the disc. The first issued promo CD, which I do not have, reverses the objectionable words instead of muting them.

There are two 4:26 versions of this song, both of which were available on
promo CDs.

Does anybody know which 4:26 version is actually on the 12" vinyl single
and/or the 2004 Grammy Nominees CD? The "Clean" Version or the "New
Version"?
