Was the 1993 re-entry a remix?

According to what I have in my 1993 archive folder it was
a remix.

Thanks, eriejwg.

I always assumed it was a direct re-entry until reading on Wikipedia something
about a remix. I recall it re-entered due to inclusion in a Listerine commercial
and the TMNT III film.

Wonder what the remix differences are.

The commercial 1993 US Cassette Single has the original version as the lead-off track/A-Side and the '93 remix as the second track/B-Side. The promo CD Single also has the original version as the first track. So I guess it's up to personal opinion as to what the hit version was in 1993. I don't recall hearing the remix on the radio at the time, and the original only had a little airplay itself in '93.

I consider the original mix to be the 1993 "hit" version,
for the reasons mentioned above.

I'm glad the record is set straight now. I remember
playing the original on the radio in the 1980s. I was at a
country station in 1993 and don't remember the local Top
40 or AC stations playing the original or the remix in
1993.
