Hey guys, how's it going? I've been trying for a while to get a copy of an edited version I hear on the radio, which is about 3:18 long (it's not version 7''). This version starts like the LP version, has an edit from 2:10 to 2:25, and fades out from about 3:08 to 3:18.
Does anyone know the origin of this version? Could it be a TM Century version? There doesn't seem to be any information about it on Discogs.
Also, all the versions I have start with an error, like a small glitch.
Can someone clarify this?
thanks

It's on the US promo CD single - https://www.discogs.com/release/1177049-Camouflage-The-Great-Commandment" rel="nofollow - https://www.discogs.com/release/1177049-Camouflage-The-Great-Commandment

The printed time is 3:42, but the actual run time is 3:14, according to the Discogs page.

The 3:14 version was used, as-is, on TM Century's HitDisc 767 1988-12-09.

Thanks Richie & Ron, unfortunately it's not the version I'm looking for.

I'll mention again that this edited version I hear on the radio starts with the synthesizer, has an edit from 2:10 to 2:25, and fades out between approximately 3:08 and 3:18.

It's not the single version, nor the TM Century edited version, which I've already ruled out.

Thanks again, Ron and Richie.

If you are hearing it on the radio in Argentina, perhaps it is not a US edit?

The 2014 Camouflage compilation The Singles lists a version called "The Great Commandment 2.0 (Radio Edit)" as well as a "7" single version" which runs 3:12.

Argentine FM radio stations have always relied on American and European charts, and US music streaming services.
The version I'm looking for is easy to recreate, but I need to know the source. I've already tried contacting them, but haven't received a response yet.
At least we know it's not the version included on the TM Century Hitdisc.

I made a recording of the audio from the radio, in case anyone wants to listen to it:

It probably is an edit created by the label in Argentina. It's happened before.
Here you have 2 examples of Sony Music creating exclusive edits for argentinian radio stations to play:

Track 2:

Track 2:

They're a complete joke, but oh well.

As far as I know, FM Aspen never made home edits, always playing official versions on air, or at least versions that were included on promo CDs, such as TM Century, etc.

although it could be what you mentioned regarding the record label in Argentina.

Yeah that's what I meant. I know nothing about what was or is the source material Aspen FM used/uses. I just think that such an easy-to-do and unique edit can come from a argentinian promotional CD. And of course, it could be easily done (as you described the edit points and just an early fade out) by whoever's in charge of putting the music on air (operator or announcer).
Guess it'll remain a mystery (unless you call them and ask about it - if the recording is recent).

I have some friends who worked and others who still work in radio, that's why I'm trying to get the information from the source, when I have it I will share it.
