I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all the hard work you all have done on this forum and on the database.
Several years ago I started to update my digital music library to lossless files and to include versions of songs that were as close to the original release as possible. The forum and database have been invaluable in this effort. I can't thank you enough!
I'm also trying to include original release artwork and lyrics in my library. I estimate I should complete this project in 2137!
Thanks again,
Brad

Glad we could help, Brad!
Safe to say that we're all here because of our own individual collectors' projects. We all come from different backgrounds (record store owners, label employees, radio people, etc.) There's plenty of overlap among our different projects, and we're all happy to share what we've learned.
Please feel free to ask specific questions if you can't find answers using the Search feature in the forum.

Thank you for the reply, and I will definitely be asking questions. Hopefully, I'll be able to contribute to the discussions as well.

Welcome aboard!
I first joined this forum in 2007 and the information gathered here is sometimes overload lol! But, I've been able to create a music library I'm proud of from the information here.
I've always been a single version guy and you can easily find out where to find (or create) proper single versions through the database and conversations in the forum.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I've been enjoying the forum for awhile now (should have joined sooner), and like you said, it is sometimes overload. I've been through many of the posts to help create my library, and I absolutely love the attention to detail. I can't imagine how much effort you all have put into this; but so glad you did!
One of the things that I've come to appreciate more with the help of this forum, are the mono versions of many of these tracks. Especially those songs that were originally released in mono only. It's forced me to add those versions to my collection. But hey, it's only money, right?

A bit belated, but welcome, Brad. I've been on this forum since 2004 (hard to believe it's been 21 years). I was telling a friend on this forum that when I first joined I was middle aged, but now I'm one of the "older guys". :)

Lol. Yeah, unfortunately for me I'm joining as one of those "older guys"! The plan is that music will keep me young(ish).

Yes, I have to echo Brad's original post. I love this database and have used it very regularly for many years now. I just also want to thank each of you who makes this information known to all of us who care about authenticity in their collections of Top 40 music.
This database has been a huge help on the project which has been an ongoing labor of love for the past 15 years, my online non-profit radio station. The station specializes in playing only music which was on the charts at this particular time of the year, in time sweeps, forwards and backwards from the 50's into the 90's. So obviously right now we are playing "Past Hits From September". I am in Canada, so our charts were slightly different, but not much compared to the U.S.A. I try to play as many original single versions as possible, with a few exceptions. If any of you is interested, you can listen for free without any sign up required. The station runs 24/7.
Thanks again to all of you!

Sadly, I can't access your station from my country: "This station is unavailable for streaming in your country."
I wanted to listen to see how many Canadian hits you have!

Hi David,
You are in Canada and could not access the station? Try refreshing the page or using a different browser. It is definitely available here in Canada. Are you using a VPN? Those sometime make it appear you are connecting from a different country.
If none of those work you can always access the station from this alternate link: https://live365.com/station/SCR-TRANSISTOR-OLDIES-a78820" rel="nofollow - SCR TRANSISTOR OLDIES - Free Internet Radio - Live365
