Nope. Not even going to try. Anytime I've tried to answer that question in the past, and I decide on one song, another would come on the radio and make me go "No, wait a minute..."

No way I could narrow it down to just one for all-time.

However, not too long ago I did make a list of my favorite song by year from 1950-1999. Could probably go into the 2000s, but the pickings start getting pretty slim.

It was July 1967. I discovered there were girls in the neighborhood. And a song on the radio. It had pertinent lyrics (at the time), I liked the instrumentation and production. It had timing changes and a false ending all in a 2 1/2-minute love song. In August it was #1 all over Chicago, anyway. It renewed my interest in 'Pop' Top 40 music. I can't think of anything that has influenced me more, musically. The Cryan Shames - "It Could Be We're In Love (single version)". -Bill.

And Stevie was about 26 when he recorded Songs In The Key Of Life.
