Well, the list to locate is down to: Band On The Run, Nights In White Satin at 3:13 and Isn't Life Strange promo edits.

I heard a copy of Barracuda and prefer the stereo LP version. Was able to create my own edits of WOLD, Ramblin' Man and Locomotive Breath. The Tull edit was a simple cut and paste in Audition.

Allman Brothers - Ramblin' Man (3:36)
Chapin, Harry - W O L D (4:01)
Heart - Barracuda (3:23)
Lennon, John - #9 Dream (2:54)
McCartney & Wings - Band On The Run (3:50)
Moody Blues - Isn't Life Strange (4:30)
Moody Blues - Nights In White Satin (3:13)

These are the only promos I haven't purchased yet. In Ramblin' Man, when does the fade start to 3:36? And yes, I have it in 45 speed from "Sound Of The Seventies - 1973"

As far as I know:

Ramblin Man is just an early fade so, yes, but you need to be at the 45 speed.

Bloodstone yes it's just a chop.

Buoys you can recreate the bleeped version but of course you can't recreate the revised lyric.

Locomotive Breath.. I have the promo, it's just a chop to make BALLS into BUN. And not a very good one. You can actually improve it a bit.

Band on the Run.. yes

Isn't Life Strange.. yes

Nights in White Satin.. yes, you need to chop from the 4:29 mix though.

You're right they are both UK releases and both have the 17 sec intro.

100 All Time Dance Hits of the 70's - Connoissseur Collection DHOS CD100 (5 disc set) released in 1988.

Classic Soul - Warner Music UK/BMG MIDCDW 038 released in 1999.

*Classic Soul
*100 All Time Dance Hits of the 70's

Can you give us the label, #, and country of these 2 releases (as they are clearly imports)?

And are you saying both of these CDs have the 17 second intro?

LOL, I got the intro right, but the rest of the song leading up to 3:39 sounds different.

Well, my promo 45 has been ordered...now on to the rest of my list! :)

I have Jack & Jill on three different CD's.

The Best of Ray Parker Jr & Raydio

Classic Soul

100 All Time Dance Hits of the 70's

The "Best of" version I assume is the album version which clocks in at 4:38. The two compilation versions are identical and both clock in at 3:39. The intro is shorter. The body of the song is the same then the last minute or so of the song is edited at various places bringing the oohs and aahh's and yeah yeah's closer together.

As far as Sultans of Swing. I used to have a rock compilation that had this song on it and at the end where Mark says "goodnight ... now it's time to go home" this version had "goodnight THANK YOU .. now it's time to go home" and had a much longer solo at the end than what is on the album. I've never heard this version since.

Using the search function, I found the post on Raydio's "Jack and Jill."

Using what was mentioned about a :17 intro, and using the time of the promo mentioned in the database of 3:39, I created what I think may be close to the promo edit. Not sure though...

Well, if it's not on Page 1, it's lost to me forever. :)

Seriously, thanks for the clarification.
