   I recently bought a 4CD compilation from the UK called Now That's What I Call The Ultimate Party (2025). It includes a 3:47 version of this song (subtitled "Radio Edit") that edits out the slow intro and starts on drums. Did this version exist in 1986, or was it a new edit created for this compilation?

	I don't have it any longer, but this 3.47 edit was on a 7" UK vinyl promo pressing from 1986. This edit was also on the vinyl and cassette releases of Now That's What I Call Music 9 released in the UK in 1987. Edited by MangoMusic - 21 January 2026 at 3:08pm

	As Ben says, this version was released in 1987, but only on the LP (X2). It wasn't included on the original CD, but it was included on the 2021 re-release. 	The opening drums are unique to the radio edit since they lack the underlying synth sound. I've never heard that edit on U.S. radio, although some stations shorten the intro to where the bass comes in.
