SANTANA - "Hold On"

The actual commercial 45 running time is (3:53), the listed time is "3:49" on the record label (Columbia 18-03160)

An additional note for anybody looking to re-create the commercial single: the 7" doesn't sound to me like a dedicated mix, just an early fade of the LP version.

To Gene:

There are two different mixes of the LP version.

One mix has Alex Ligertwood's lead vocals mixed quite dryly.

The other mix (single mix) has quite a bit of murky reverb on his vox.

Andy, to be sure I understand you correctly: Some vinyl LPs have the dry vocal mix while other pressings have the reverb like the single. If so, does that explain where the "single version but :43 longer" originates from? I'll need to update the database if this is the case.
