A bit confused. The database lists the times for both parts 1 and 2 of the 45.

The 2:52 in the 2011 annual does not match any commercial time as listed in the for the 5:45 listings on discogs. Did Part 1 only get airplay even though the title was part 1 and 2? Paul did Whitburn list 2:52 because Part 1 only got airplay when it debuted?

Which is correct just putting Whitburn's Part 1 only or the actual 5:49? The LP version runs 6:29 on Foundations of Funk and the two running times based on the database for each part that appears on The Singles exceed the 5:45.

The 45 prof has the 5:49 for the 45 running time. Anyone have thoughts?

Favorite two expressions to live by on this board: "You can't download vinyl" and "Not everything is available on CD."

I believe that the A-side of the 45 had Part 1, faded to silence, then Part 2. Two different songs on the A-side, and a completely different song on the B-side.

That's pretty odd.

For my own archives, I chose to break the 45 into two files, rather than one file with silence in the middle.

The 6:29 version just runs longer than Part 2 of the 45.
There's a lot of crap on the radio, but there's only one Crap From The Past.
