first time stereo issue of some songs

Thought I’d chime in and comment on a few:

Regarding Liar, Liar, I can only imagine being old enough in 1968 (I was 7) to
buy “Oldies But Goodies Vol. 9” and hear the song in stereo for the first
time! I know how it feels to have discovered a first time stereo song in the
late LP/early CD era (one of the first was when Dick Bartley played “(I Can't
Get No) Satisfaction” on his Solid Gold Saturday Night program, and I heard
stereo! I was floored!!). Then came the quest to track it down (which I soon
did).

Anyway, regarding Velvelettes - He Was Really Sayin' Somethin', it is stereo
on 2005 Rhino VA CD "One Kiss Can Lead to Another: Girl Group Sounds
Lost and Found”. As far as I can tell, it is the hit 45.

The Warner albums had a rechanneled
version of the song, not stereo.

Likely a period mix made then or one of the Steve Hoffman remixes done while at MCA from the Chess Multitracks. "From London to Liverpool" album on Chess from 1965 was true Stereo in the Stereo version and Chuck Berry's first Stereo LP. So, the possibility exists that "Nadine" may have had a period Stereo mix done.
