Collector's Choice is about to release a John Zacherle twofer of two of his Halloween-themed albums from Cameo-Parkway, and it will contain the never-before-on-CD "Dinner With Drac - Part 2."

I have a version of this with "monster sounds" as a 10 second intro. It's
from the CD "Monster Sounds And "Boppin" Tracks Vol.1". Does anyone know when this version first appeared? Is the intro unique to this particular VA CD comp? In other words, did the intro ever appear back in the day, or only in the CD era? |

No one answered me on this (sigh...), however, the database
indicates two CDs on which a version with the "monster sounds" appears, but Pat says they come at the end of the track. Is this correct, or do they come at the beginning like mine? Edited by davidclark |

I first came across the version of "Dinner With Drac Part 1" with the opening monster sounds in the mid-1970s on the K-Tel LP "Looney Tunes". (Yes, in the 1970s, Abkco was licensing Cameo/Parkway material to K-Tel!!) The version with the opening monster sounds was also on the Abkco reissue 45 that was in print in the late 1970s and early 1980s and was, as far as I know, the last place the song was available until the Cameo/Parkway boxed set.
