Lily Was Here - David A. Stewart / Candy

I NEVER noticed this before: at 3:56 in the track on my CD copy of "Saxuality" there is a "click," not only very audible as a pop but also very visible if you open it up in a waveform editor!

It really doesn't look like an intentional audio element picked up by a microphone; it looks like a digital glitch (and sounds like a record scratch).

I can't find a single copy of the original record on YouTube that doesn't have this audible "pop" at that moment in the music, either.

I'm wondering a couple of things: does the "Lily Was Here: OST" have the click as well? Does anybody have the cassette of "Saxuality" who can check and see if it's there, too? (There was a vinyl release, but not in the United States, so I won't ask about that.)

I found "official" YouTube videos with audio provided by the record labels containing "Lily Was Here" from both "Saxuality" and "Best Of Candy Dulfer" and both containing the click, so I'm not holding my breath that a version without the click actually exists.

I don't know how I never noticed this before; now, the quest is on...

Are you sure the "pop" you hear isn't Dave Stewart's guitar? I hear a lot of fret
board squeaks throughout the song, so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary if the
kept in a string pop.

It may be his guitar plucking... but when you look at it in a wavefile editor it looks more like a digital glitch, to my eyes at least.

I agree that there's plenty of physical guitar "noise" in the song so it's not out of the question, the waveform just looks odd to me for it to be that.

I'll have to listen again. :-)
