Quick question...
Organizing 1975 and realized based on the board list this is in Mono to the radio stations, but stereo everywhere else, unless I am reading wrong. Does anyone know the story behind this or whether the stereo is considered the 45 or the mono? I don't think I have ever heard Mandy in mono, but yet all the discog listings don't appear to be stereo in the US. Can anyone chime in? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFCB0k70buQ |

From Todd Ireland's thread of 1975 mono/stereo top 40 hits:
Manilow, Barry - "Mandy" (mono) The stock 45 was in mono. |

I noticed but was wondering if there was a story behind it is all considering by 1975 mono was almost non-existent in 45 single releases... |

Bell was one of the last commercial 45 mono holdouts (THE
last?). The rest of Manilow's hit singles in the 1970s were released on Arista. |

Promo copies of this (and most other Bell singles) were
mono/stereo. Does anyone know if any of these mono singles were dedicated mixes? |

Bell was one of the last two holdouts on releasing only Mono 45 RPM singles (London was the other). When Bell changed names to Arista, then they issued Stereo 45 RPM singles, London began issuing Stereo singles in 1975. Promo 45 RPM were Mono/Stereo often. Edited by KentT |
