I was revisiting this #83 Beach Boys "hit" from 1980 and
I realized that the version on Greatest Hits Vol 3: The Best of The Brother Years runs noticeably faster than all the other versions that I have. Does anyone know offhand if this is the true 45 speed or just an anomaly? |

It's pretty darn close to the 45 speed. The CD track does run faster than my DJ 45, but certainly not by a very noticeable amount: the difference is about 1.079 second.
However, the tip of the fade is about six-tenths of a second shorter on the 45, clipping off the final drum beat heard at the end of the CD track. In the end, the speed difference isn't really significant. Timings: DJ 45: 2:58.4 CD: 2:57.9 |

Thanks for the 45 timing. The timing for the version on
the Good Vibrations Box is 3:01.5, so there's a 2% speed difference between the CD versions. By the way, the Made In California Box is pitched the same as the Good Vibrations box, but dumps the fade a few seconds early. |
