My commercial 45, which is stereo, has a listed time of (3:40), but an actual time of (3:46). While checking this song in the database, I noticed that Pat has notated "DJ copies of this run (3:00)." But my 1974 mono/stereo DJ copy has a listed time of (3:40) on both sides, and an actual time of (3:46) on both sides. My lengthy deadwax for the mono side of my DJ 45 is "T54245-AM-1BT54245f-62423-XCM 17B". The stereo side is the same, except the "AM" is "AS" and the "XCM" is "XC, followed by either a '9' or a lower-case 'g'". I do, however, remember hearing a version on the radio, when it was a current, that omitted the opening "conversation" between Stevie and the female voice, and started the song with the lyric, "everybody". I always thought that this version was an "in-house" edit, but perhaps Pat's (3:00) DJ copy had this version on it.

Actually Jim, I just pulled out my dj copy and even though the label states a running time of (3:00) it runs (3:18). The matrix number is T54245F-62423-RE1-IG.

Thanks for the additional info, Pat. Just to let you know, the final part of your new database note for the commercial 45 timings for this song needs to be flip-flopped - it should read, "commercial copies all run (3:46), not (3:40) as stated on the record label." This is certainly understandable, my friend, with all of the database "catching" up you've had to deal with in the last day or two...
