It seems the retail 45, promo 12", promo 45 "long version", and the very common album version are in fact all the same remix.

The German vinyl LP, 1990 German CD, and original Canadian LP claim to have a 3:58 version. So I suspect that's the original version and the reason why the text on the 45 sleeve says the "4:28" version is an extended remix.

Therefore, I also suspect it was on the first pressings of the US LP, just not yet entered in Discogs because people haven't noticed yet. And I think I have confirmed this; there's a PBthal rip claiming to be of the US LP and it is this version. (A commenter on the "Radio Short Edit" at YouTube also confirms that the 3:58 edit is indeed the first LP version.)

As mentioned, though, apparently the promo 45 short version is unique.

Following up on this, I double-checked and am confident of the info in my last comment, so the database entry for this song could stand to be updated.

I think it would be simplest if what is currently listed as "(this is the dj edit but :13 longer)" is just changed to "(this is the original LP version)".

Maybe also change the overall notes to add "the 3:46 dj edit is an early fade of the original LP version, and the 4:32 version is the 45 version and more common LP version", or something to that effect.
