   Just a note to Pat, which you may want to address in the database. The 

version of "Hot Stuff" on the compilation Disco Years volume 4 is not 

actually an edit of the LP version. It has a very different vocal ending, 

featuring ad libs by Donna that are not on the album version at all. This is 

the only place you can get this alternate version, which I've always 

considered to be more like an extended 45 version for lack of a better 

name.

	Hi I'll second that. The ending contains a string of repeat choruses that did not appear on the LP, or the 6:45 12" single that segued into Bad Girls. It is actually the 45 edit but the ending runs about :45 longer. I do recall hearing this version on one radio station back in '79/80. When it finally turned up on the Rhino cd, I was told it was a 45 DJ edit, but I can't confirm that. (someone must have ever seen a copy...) I was glad they pulled that tape and used it. I do own the import 12" from '79, which was just the one song (no Bad Girls), and has this same ending not heard on the LP. -Mark M

	Is your import 12" an extended version with this alternate ending? Or is it the same length? If it's an extended version, then that's a juicy collectable!

	Hi! I'm sorry - i was kinda busy for a few days and this post got pushed outta site. First, i took a look and that 12" fell victim to a big vinyl cleanout years ago. Sorry, thought i still had it - so i guess its someone elses juicy collectible now! But i can describe it perfectly from memory - i liked the version once i found it. The 12" ran about 6:45 like the u.s. version, except no Bad Girls, and was 45 rpm. It was the same mix right up to the very last chorus where those extra un-heard choruses appeared, and it faded a bit sooner than the "promo" (?) version on the Rhino Disco Years CD. During the fade she sang the long "stuuuuuuffffff" over the dum-roll, and you heard one "I need it!" I guess i dumped the record cuz i figured if i wanted it again, i could create it from the various cd sources. These days tho, that edited one on the Rhino cd will do just fine for me, and has even more choruses at the end never heard anywhere else! (as far as i know...) -MM -Markie
