Does anybody out there know when the two non-top-40
charting singles from tom Petty's 2nd album 'You're Gonna Get It' were remixed for CD? The original LP & 45 versions had buried vocals; the newer mixes had very upfront vox and were heavily compressed. I believe at least the first pressings of the CDs had the original mixes, but I know the newer mixes seem to show up on comps & best-ofs. Can anyone give me any information, fact or conjecture? Thanks! Andy |

Andy, I'm guessing you're asking about "I Need To Know"
and "Listen To Her Heart"? I'd be interested to find out where to locate the original mixes on CD myself although I don't have those songs in my active music library at this point. |

Both songs appear on the 1993 Greatest Hits CD (tracks 3 & 4). Not sure if the original pressing of the CD used the original mixes or the remixes mentioned.

The first pressing of 'Greatest Hits'
included the remixes. Andy |
