Here's a question for you smart folks... This track
has been bugging me since I first heard it in 2014. Is
the version of "I Lived" by OneRepublic that was
serviced to radio different than the album version? I
have been looking for the version heard in the promo
video since its release in 2014.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0rxydSolwU

(Note that the version featured in the video is
extended due to various spoken segments overlapping
instrumental sections between the verses).

If one listens from 4:19 onward in the promo video,
the song features an entirely different vocal take
(including a new falsetto performance) and additional
ad libs from Ryan Tedder. Compare this same section at
3:04 onward in the album version. On discogs, I see a
couple international CD-R promos listed with a "Radio
Edit". I am quite sure that I heard this alternate
vocal take version on the radio back then, but I may
be confusing it with the version in the video.

Does anyone know where I might get this version? And
is it an official radio edit that was perhaps serviced
digitally? I have never been able to find this video
version on digital download sites, only the album
version and various remixes. I bought "Now 54" back
then, hoping to get this version, but it was the album
version yet again. Thank you.

Jason, my copy from TM PrimeCuts is labeled as a radio
edit so you may be on to something about an alternate
version.

I'm looking into this Jason. Will get back with you soon.
Favorite two expressions to live by on this board: "You can't download vinyl" and "Not everything is available on CD."

The version on the November 2014 Promo Only Mainstream Radio disc is the LP Version. A line that is clearly sung differently between the LP Version and the Youtube version is "With every broken bone" at about 3:37 in the LP Version (about 4:43 in the YouTube video.)
